If Human Design teaches us anything, it’s that life gets easier when we stop forcing it. Each of us is designed to move through the world in a way that feels natural and aligned. The key to that is understanding two things: your strategy and your authority.
Think of strategy as the way you’re meant to approach life. And authority as how you’re meant to make decisions. When you use both, you’re no longer fighting the current. You’re learning to float, to respond, and to steer with confidence.
Let’s start with strategy.
Generators and Manifesting Generators are here to respond. That means waiting until something shows up in your life and then checking in with your gut. Is it a yes? A no? It’s not about chasing every idea. It’s about noticing what lights you up and letting your response lead.
Manifestors are meant to inform. You’re here to initiate, but the magic happens when you let others know what you’re doing before you act. It clears the path and reduces resistance.
Projectors are here to wait for invitations. That doesn’t mean doing nothing. It means recognizing that your energy is best used when it’s seen, valued, and invited in.
Reflectors need to wait through the lunar cycle. Big decisions take time. You’re deeply connected to the environment, so giving yourself space to reflect brings clarity.
Now let’s talk about authority, your built-in decision-making tool.
Sacral Authority is a gut feeling. You’ll feel a pull toward yes or no in the moment. Don’t overthink it. Listen to the sound and energy of your body.
Emotional Authority asks you to wait out your emotional wave. Don’t decide in the highs or the lows. Wait until the wave levels out so you can see clearly.
Splenic Authority is instant and quiet. It’s that subtle knowing or whisper you feel in your body. It doesn’t repeat itself, but it’s usually right.
Self-Projected Authority works through your voice. Talk it out. You’ll hear the truth as you speak it.
There are other types, too, but the principle is the same: your body knows. You just have to listen.
When you combine strategy and authority, something shifts. Life stops feeling like an uphill battle. There’s more flow. More alignment. More moments where things just... click.
That doesn’t mean life gets easy. It means you stop making it harder than it needs to be.
Human Design gives you permission to trust how you’re built. And that’s one of the most powerful gifts we can receive.
Curious about your own design?
I’d love to hear how strategy and authority have shown up in your life, or where you’ve struggled with them. Leave a comment or reply directly. Let’s learn from each other.
