Unveiling Unique Gifts
A Journey into Cosmic Human Design
One of the gifts of deschooling is that it gives us space to step back and really see each other again. Outside the pressure of systems and schedules, we start noticing the things that make each person in the family completely unique, how they move through the world, how they respond to challenges, what lights them up.
That’s where Cosmic Human Design comes in.
Unlike traditional Human Design, Cosmic Human Design uses sidereal astrology, which tracks the actual placement of the stars at your time of birth. It’s a deeper map. One that helps explain not just your strengths or quirks, but how you’re wired to make decisions, work with others, and live a life that actually feels good.
When I first started studying this, it changed everything. It gave me a way to understand why some things felt so right for me, and why other paths felt completely off. And more than that, it gave me a whole new lens for parenting.
Let me show you what I mean.
A Garden, A Family, and Three Energies
Let’s imagine a family. Three people: Ava, Liam, and Olivia.
They decide to turn their backyard into a garden. But instead of doing it the way most families would, with one person in charge and the others following, they work in alignment with their Human Design.
Ava is a Mental Projector. She’s not here to do all the heavy lifting. She’s here to see, to guide, to observe, to offer a big-picture perspective. She lays out the plan, sketches the map, and explains how the garden could come together in a way that feels clear and intentional.
Liam is an Emotional Generator. He brings depth and heart. He takes his time deciding what to plant and where, riding his emotional wave before committing. But when he feels clear, he pours himself into it with care, tending each plant like it matters.
Olivia is a Sacral Generator. She’s the energy in motion. She gets her hands dirty, moves the compost, hauls the watering cans, and sings while planting seeds. She follows her gut and responds in the moment. Her joy is contagious.
Each of them is totally different. And yet, they’re not stepping on each other’s toes. They’re working in sync, because they’re honoring who they actually are.
That’s the magic of this system.
Why This Matters
So often, especially in families, we expect others to function like we do.
We want our partner to make decisions faster.
We want our kid to be more consistent.
We want ourselves to be better at planning or doing or sticking with something.
But we’re not meant to be the same. We’re meant to complement each other.
When you start seeing your family through the lens of Cosmic Human Design, things soften. Frustration gets replaced with understanding. You stop trying to fix what was never broken in the first place.
Deschooling Makes Space for This
If I were still following someone else’s rules about what learning should look like, I would have missed all of this. But deschooling cleared the noise. It helped me see my son clearly. And it helped me get curious about the kind of parent I actually want to be.
Cosmic Human Design just gave me the language to go deeper.
Curious what type your child might be? Or what energy dynamics are playing out in your home?
Reply or comment, I’d love to share what I know and help you start exploring.
